Hi all

Was down fishing at spot x on the brisbane river yesterday with my cousins. It was a pretty slow evening, we caught about 3 catties and 15 odd prawns in a net. I was having a play with one of the baitcasting outfits and cast it out into the prime spot, a minute later it got slammed by a nice thready. I set the drag quite loosely because i was bitten off last attempt. but this time i nailed him. he went about 1.5 kg and was released aswell. I was soooooo stoked;D ;D

cheers

The trawlers are really working the river at the moment and some of the shows on the sounder look like there should be a few prawns around and no doubt thats keeping the threadies happy.Good job on the catch well done

Congrats on the fish Owen.
I am yet to get one myself. Did you use a live prawn for bait.

Cheers

i used a freshly caught prawn, we used a cast net. Whenever there are heaps of prawns around there should be threadies in the area.

Great effort mate, threadies are my favourite to chew on.
