I almost forgot that I was going to report back on the success. At fraser over christmas i took both sizes, 8 of the larger, 4 of the smaller. The tarp was about 6*4 meters. We used the 2 of the large per corner and they worked a treat, even with 30kt winds. I couldn't screw some of them in all the way, so did it as far as i could and they still worked fine. The smaller ones were not worth a pinch of sh*t, so dont waste you cash. It does say on the packet that the smaller ones are for firm soil and you should follow the advice!
Better than normal sand pegs, definately. Considering they dont cost a whole lot more I would highly recommend them. The only problem is that they take up more space when packing up, but not much more!
