Hey guys,
wondering what everyones PB bream is. My best is 37 and I've seen Damo88 boat a 42cm. There must be a few good ones between everyone here?

Didn't measure length when these were caught - just weight. The larger of the 2 in the middle was just under 2kg and the other over 1.5kg. Estimate at least 50cm - were too big to put in a standard bucket which kept toppling over because too much of the fish was hanging over the side. Were caught from the Hornibrook Highway on live herring in the early nineties.

I'm only about 37, but a mate of mine pulled a 46 off the beach at Teewah about 6 years ago. You could fit your fist in it's gut cavity. We thought we had the barge prize, but no.
Freedom, I know you know your fish, but they seem pretty elongated. Are they not grunters?
Just asking, they do look mostly like yellow fin but skinny at the mid body.

yea i got a big one around about the size as cammys got up at the barra park as well but i didnt measure him as i was most disapointed it wasnt a barra
but the biggest in salt water in an estuary would have to be a beasty 36cm bream that took a 12cm herring i no what a hungry bream
bron
on bait when i was a kid 44 to the tip, on plastic 36 to the fork, on hardbody 34 to the fork

Teewah, 45cm to the fork ,1.2kg cleaned , I too thought i had a shot at the barge prize but was not even close. Some mates i have up that way talk of much larger ones in days gone by and I trust them not to be bending the truth.
Cheers

43cm fork in tweed last year. wasnt wieghed because i just wanted to get it back into the water asap. cant kill a fish that would most likely be 30 years old!

This bream was a stud - he must have rounded up so many women he forgot to eat and look after himself during the spawning run. Measured 41cm and vanished from sight if you turned him over by 45 degrees. I should have let him go, we still went hungry after the fillets.
