broken rod, barra park and a bream pb

Got home today and thought id take the dog down the beach for a walk before dropping the tinny in for a fish, cut a long story short, had left my fav bream rod in the car from a previous trip, next thing i know is ive jammed the muts tail in the door as i was putiing her in, dog goes nuts, i sh%t myself thinking ive cut her tail off, turns out shes fine but not my stick, 6 inches broken off from the tip, shattered, but my own fault, dont take the dog for a walk, dont have anything light enough for a bream sess, consider calling it off, when i remember i have a 1-3 kg stick that i fished off the bottom of the barra park 6 months ago which i havent used.

Decided to hit the canals anyway, with the water looking like chocolate and compared to my usual outfit the barra park stick feeling like a surf rod, i was not expecting to much, but i could not have been more wrong, plenty of fish on the chew, lots of strikes, all up 10 fish landed and a couple lost at the boat, (including one good lizard), best part was i ended up scorring my hard body pb with the barra park stick. black/gold sx40 did the damage

took the dog and the missus fishing the other night, next thing she has caught the dog on the inside thigh. hook was really deep and i couldn't see anything in the dark so we took it to the 24hr vet. Cost $140 to get the hook out. But all is good nothing happened to my rod.
