Peel yesterday and this afternoon

Was out to Peel yesterday afternoon on SP's, had two blistering runs which were broken off on the reef with much cursing on my part. Other than that it was fairly quiet and only an undersize grassy. Great conditions though and a nice day out.

At the last minute today I thought I would try again to get those big ones that got away, only to have a pulled hook for the only big run I got. Luckily landed a couple of 40cm specimens and about half a dozen undersize. Conditions not that good this afternoon, with lots of whitecaps on the way out and quite lumpy on the way back. Had a little trouble at the ramp launching when the wind kept pushing the boat aground before we could take off. Apologies to the guys we held up and next time I will jump in and push a bit sooner!

The rest of the week doesn't look great so its back to boat maintenance mode again!

Hi Joe,

I was coming in when you arrived mate. I was the whit half cab in the rigging bay.

Peel had the same results for us too. Small grassy's a couple of grinners and small squire but not much else. I had a couple of steam trains take the SP's but they were few and far between.

Chris, I think I remember seeing your boat there. We ended up launching at the other ramp (with the barge) because I'm used to it and know where the channels are coming back at night. Still haven't sussed the ramp near the VMR but was just checking it out yesterday.

Yes Dan, I'm back and after not fishing for 18 months its good to be back on the water. If you're back in Brisbane we should give Mud another try, hopefully I will know a few spots by then.

Coming back last night there the water was quite dirty and a few tree branches floating around. Hopefully it all clears up soon.

Oooh.... Might be a bit late for that trip mate.... I moved to Townsville about 4/5 months ago ;D

When I'm heading back down for a work trip I'll let ya know before hand.
