Hello Lads,

Afternoon lad's I am planning a trip out into the Bay on Wednesday, myself and three mates are planning on pulling up some where around tangalooma north or south (not sure yet as we have not been in that area before)and just camping up on the beach for two nights. We are planning on fishing out side the top of Morton on the Thursday, however we also might just hang inside not 100% sure yet. My questions are can we camp on the beach or is it against the law? The other question is I have fished the bay mainly around peel and I have nothing at all to write home about. We would like to get into some nice fish just enough to get a feed, I have fished and fished the bay and always come home disappointed yet I still keep at it. It is all about lines in the water and relaxing. Anyway any information at all on what bait, areas to fish, should I throw a few poppers in the tackle box or what? I am at a loss with the bay so any help would be excellent. Also I have fished the bay many a time for whiting and only come up with a PB of 6 in total. Can anyone give me a hint or area to fish for them please?

Thank you lads all help is appreciated.

Cheers,

Mad.

P.S i am ready to start begging about the BAY!:o

Try the sharks spit to sandhills, especially this time of year.
Likely candidates are tuna, mackerel, whiting, grassies around the weed beds, sandies and if your lucky a few nice snapper on the coffee rock drop offs that runs north from harries.
A popper session around the wrecks at tangas wouldnt go astray either.
Anyway if the weather gods are right, after tuesday it looks like its going to turn to shit again.

Mad??

If you intend camping on Moreton Island you will need a permit from the EPA or their Possum Police will get you.

Take the Rid.
