Info on swains reef trip

Hello all I’m off on a trip to swains reef in late July 2008. This is my first trip out and i'm looking for some advice on what gear to take with me.
I have been talking to the local fishing shop who has been great he has hooked me up with a bit of gear but I’m interested in what you guys have taken up and what styles of fishing your have been successful at.
Having not been up their before I’m looking to give as many styles of fishing a go but not looking to spend a great deal of money on gear that I will not use regularly.
Would be great if you are able to share your knowledge

just a 70lb handline , couple of boxes of 8/o hooks and some sinkers small and large to fish different depths and some finger stools.
