Gday All,

Went For A Fish In The Rain Last Night We Caught A Good Variety Of Species 1x35 Pikey 1x45 Cod 1x36 Jack 1x52 Fingermark And Lost A Few Others You Soon Forget The Rain When You Are Catching Fish All Were Caught On Live Mullet.

Youse had copped some good rain down there to of late good for the catchment i hope
I'm planning to hit saturday out wide if the weather will play the game

Some nice fish there. You must have been keen for a fish that weather. I have been chomping at the bit to get out and have a crack but a busy festive season has kept the fishing at bay. I would have thought the big fresh from all the rain might have quietned down the fishing in the Calliope. I must get out and have a crack by the looks of it. Were you land based or on a boat, if you dont mind me asking?

Nice Gladdy,

I think you have confirmed some of my suspicions, that the river needed a good clean /flush out. I hope the fishing is going to imporve now we have had some rain. I am not as keen as you though, I think I will wait until it stops.

GregM in a boat mate if your chasing bait i would start around the mouth were it's a bit cleaner there has been a fair bit around.

Cheers for the tips on the bait. I might have to head out this weekend to see what I can russle up. I am mainly land based .....unless i can convince my mate to put his boat in once in a while. I generally gather a bit of bait around the boat ramp and the little creek where the power station pond discharges into. Although the last few times the bait has been pretty scarce in these spots. I have noticed a lot of bait fish around the pontoons in the marina lately when I have been there flicking lures around. Not much eating them though.
