Thanks to some prior research on AUSFISH and some helpful replies earlier this year about Middleton beach fishing the brother and I hit the night time high tide with pillies and burley and got our selves a nice jewie and a big shark which we let go. We used gang hooks on heavy leader with running bean, tuna pellets for burley and we put a great bend in the brothers new shimano beach rod (much to my local uncles surprise, as he said you won't catch anything off there & that only made us try harder) the moon came out and we were standing in more cockles than I have ever seen. The gutter was tricky to find in the dark and the hike to the waters edge was challenging and long but made the catch all the more enjoyable. We went over the dunes right opposite the last boat ramp on the Courong side as far as we could go up the spit. Good times! Happy new year when you get it! Later!
