christmas eve jack session

Yep well we got a canoe and headed out for a xmas eve session whist the kids get ready for the big day. It was bad conditions and was not expectig a thin but luck had us a nice 51 cm red fella, there was plenty of surface action but nothing to the hooks . So jack for a chrissy lunch My first time taste of a jack I took many last year but released all of them but I thought due to the holiday we might give it a try. Great catch mate. Dont feel bad about taking one for a feed. Im the same with Australian bass, release most of em, but taking the odd one for a feed is nothing to be ashamed of. Its all legal, and also responsible use of fishing resources. If everyone who fishes for them used the same way of thinking we would have a very healthy population of fish waaaay into the future.

Good stuff nathan, I was gunna go yesterday for a session up one of the passage creeks, but the wind talked me out of it, plenty of time this week though.
I ate my first jack, and can I just say it was one of the best tasteing fish we have ever tried, enjoy the feed mate

Yep the beer is in the other fridge, I mean it WAS in the other fridge ooch my head, ha ha. oh and they arn,t a bad chew at all. but I will be back to catch and release agian though.
