first of all I forgot my camera but will try to describe 33cm shaped like a jack but deep blue to purple in colour caught and released around cavill bridge also caught a couple of nice moses pearch earlier in the day spied some share farmers lifting my pots got into my boat and confronted the 3 young fellows and told them to leave pots alone got a lovely response and was told they would check them again hopefully the fisheries will discourage them after I gave them their boat rego tight lines to all :o

kids these days have so much attitude - good on you for reporting them - lets just hope fushreies actually do something about it
the only blue/purple fish I could think of would be a morwong (see pic) - I haven't caught any on the Coast, but have caught them around the Hervey Bay area.
good luck with the crabbing

Did this mystery fish have any colour unside its throat??
I'm thinking it might be a very darkly coloured grunter as well.
Jack.

ps caught some nice sandies
Good to see you taking some action against theshare farmers. Well done.
I know it's a pain, but any chance you could follow up on your complaint withn fisheries to see what the outcome is?
My guess on the fish is a slatey bream/mother in law fish.
Good luck,
Mike
