I'll start with a late post,
Tuesday the 11th hit wello, all day only little squire on the plastic things (when am i going to catch a legal pink thing) but could have bagged out with some left over but only kept the 4 which were over 40cm, biggest going 54 which was a great fish.
Plenty of double hook-ups which can be difficult when you are by yourself.
and the biggest ambo i've ever seen here, it was up around the 14-15
(cm that is not kg)
it took my sp right beside hybers beacon, it had taken the whole plastic, jighead and all was down its gob, almost physically impossible.
2 grassy's, 1 was 32 the other was about 35, they pull better then the squire/snapper
Used up all the stinky stuff so thought i would try something different and trolled.
used a gold bomber and some others which were ineffective, but the bomber got me a cod around 28 and a moses around 32 in about 5 minutes.
trolled along the drop off.
Now for the latest post, got out yesterday with a bloke from them fishing club (red hookers (http://www.RHFC.com.au)) also at wello
since he came along the plastic things stayed at home, used pillies on gangs as i always do here, 1 squapper around the 40 mark, Dusky flatty which showed us its aerial act about 30m from the boat, he went around 64 and a cod which went 34.
that was the best of the day with some smaller squire and grassies thrown in.
An interesting point in the day was a huge swirl maybe 20m from the boat was huge thought shark maybe but hoped for better. Later on winding in a gang with nothing on it i thought and something grabbed it and jumped maybe 3 times then bit the rig off, thinking it was a mac.
Had a balloon out all day with only an undersize squire, had a cormoron fly down and thought "here we go, its gunna swim down and grab the pillie..." and it dived down and line started coming off the bait runner, lazily i got up, had a drink walked over to the rod and realised the bird was going one way and the line was going the other way, hmm
Stuffed around to long, watever took the pillie had bricked me on the bottom, bugga !!
Over all had a great day on the water would have liked to know if it was a mac or wat as it had a few kg to it.
Will post some piccy's when i get them
