Fella's
I did a spur of the moment thing today and bought a Daiwa Millionaire Custom Snakehead 300 reel as a trolling reel for Monduran. Not game to tell you the cost but the name nearly gives it away.
Got home and all instructions are in Japanese ;D . What The!!!!
Has anyone else got one of these and what is their quality?

Mayney,
I have one, bloody great reel. I looked at the black sheep but couldn't go past the snakehead for the price.
I know all the paperwork is in Japanese but I can still make out the pictures for basic stripping and rebuilding.
I brought mine for casting for impoundment barra, matched it with a TCurve power cast rod. Unfortunately I haven't hooked one on it yet, but I took this outfit to the Swains this year and flogged it on mack tuna, trevally, and mackeral. It took all of this and had plenty in reserve.

Ally Jack,
Thanks, I noticed from an old posting that you had one. Maybe my impulsive purchase might work out OK. I am also going to match it with a Shimano T Curve Barra rod, principally for trolling for Barra at Monduran.
Can't wait to see how it goes.

HI,
If you have even seen pics of the places they have to pull snakeheads out off you know the reel means bussiness. They seem to cast light hollow frogs with them in asia too.
Merry Christmas

Mate,
good work. I looked at buying a Blacksheep for awoonga fishing but the price was a bit much for me too. From what i've heard the sheep and snake are basically the same TOUGH and top quality units. Apparently the snake head is the predecessor to the sheep.
I ended up gettin a CVZ and love it so i would imagin the spec'd up versions (reed balcksheep and snakehead) would be that much better again.
Hope ya get a big one soon.
Q. How do you find the t-curve powercast ?
