Chronarch 100b too heavy for Bass?

Hey all i am getting a chronarch 100b for christmas and have been thinking it may be a bit heavy for bass? Which will be the main species i will be targeting. I will probably spooling it up with 10pound braid would this matched with a procaster z be a balanced set up for bass fishing? Thanks Chris

no wont be too heavy. Heavier then say a 50mg but still i think they are a great reel. Was playing with one today at work and am thinking thats what im getting for my new bass reel too. Procaster z's are a nice value for money rod. Where did you get yours and when?? i havent seen them in a long time. What one did you get?? i have a 5'10 4-8lb as my cheaper bass combo teamed up with a little calcutta, its good fun to use

Great bass reel esp for heavier lures such as jackals / vibes, which is what I use mine for, as well as the larger crank baits.

Thanks for the replies guys. Bass Pirate i got mine from a fellow ausfisher and it is 4-8lb a nice rod for only $100 and it's never been used either. I also have one more querey is using a chronarch in the salt a big no no? Just wondering as i wouldn't mind using it for jacks, if not i spose i will just get a daiwa sol baitcaster. Cheers Chris

no it is perfectly fine for salt. u can even use 50mgs in the salt however that isnt an ideal environment for them and it will effect them with time. a 100b will be as suitable for salt as any. Im using mine tomorrow for flathead

Chris ..... I would be a little worried about using the 100B in the Salt :-/ .... Otherwise why would they have the 100BSV (Ion plated)reel in the range ? ..... says something to me !
Other than that .... the 100B would make a nice little bass reel8-) ... Nagg

PS ... No difference in price between the 100B & 100BSV .... So if your heart is set on a Cronarch .... Then buy the BSV:P

Thanks Nagg but unfortunatley i have already got the 100B all ready for christmas day. So i am guessing i will just buy a Daiwa sol baitcaster for the salt? Thanks Chris
