G'day m8,Like ya handle 8-) ,
It may help if you are a little more specific about ya location. There are a few members here that fish up that way,And I'm sure they'll be able to point ya in the right direction.

I have only limited experience with that area,But I have put in my kayak at Colleges Crossing and done alright,Pretty sure it's still a bit brackish there but got some nice Bass if that's what ya after.I'm told,And have read that upstream from here is also some nice water,But some sections are out of bounds. Some more research will get ya the info ya need ;).

Welcome aboard. B8.:)

colleges crossing would be good for a canoe as their is a boat ramp there and easy landing, the only real problem you would have their is bullrout freshwater stonefish, and sometimes the winds can get up across the river, or you could try spots like wivenhoe or maroon if your keen for a mish

Bass are stocked upstream of mt crosby weir but only in small numbers. River is a bit of a struggle to navigate atm due to low water and weed but worth a try. Colleges is brackish but some good fun can be had upstream on occasions. The entire system realy needs a good flush out atm though as it isn't the nicest river to paddle/fish atm.

G'Day SnagKing,
Rivers
As the other guys suggested, the top of the Brisbane River is an option but weed can be problem depending on the section you want to paddle in. Brisy River info HERE>>> (http://www.sweetwaterfishing.com.au/BrisBass.htm)

There is the Bremer River Canoe trail in Ipswich starting at Sadliers Crossing & continuing as far as the Brisbane/Bremer Junction if you like, however the Bremer River is a little dirty & not many fish outside of forkies & noahs.

I have been doing some looking at the North Pine River upstream of Lake Samsonvale lately. Some good looking water up there. Pics of access points HERE>>> (http://www.sweetwaterfishing.com.au/Forum/index.php/topic,151.0.html)

You can also paddle & fish the North Pine downstream of Lake Samsonvale (http://www.sweetwaterfishing.com.au/Samsonvale.htm). Look in UBD for Youngs Crossing.

Another option is the Albert or Logan Rivers. Some nice water up there & with recent rain should be a bit of a flow. Check out the UBD around Beenleigh for access points. :)

Dams
Good spots for a paddle are:
Lake Maroon (http://www.sweetwaterfishing.com.au/maroon.htm) - rising water & Fishing great ATM
Lake Moogerah (http://www.sweetwaterfishing.com.au/moogerah.htm) - rising water but very dirty
Lake Somerset (http://www.sweetwaterfishing.com.au/Somerset.htm) - lots of watere but beware of the lake lice (ski boats)
Lake Wivenhoe (http://www.sweetwaterfishing.com.au/Wivenhoe.htm) - Lots of forkies to be caught in summer time
Hinze Dam (http://www.sweetwaterfishing.com.au/hinzedam.htm) - Good water & good fish to be had

Hope that helps, :)
