Hello everyone,
Tim and I decided to hit the local river Yesterday for a few Pelagics and Breambo's in my little punt. We started off by chasing a few decent Bream around the moored boats in the middle of the river,
After Several dropped fish Tim finally landed a Bream of probably 25cm F.L then after more dropped fish i finally landed a Bream of 24cm F.L. We then decided to chase some bigger species, Gt's and if there was one there a Jack. Upon arrival there were mass numbers of bait. Tim started chucking a Gold Bomber while i decided with the Berkley 4 inch shrimp.
While winding my shrimp a mass school of Gt's came around and i temted him to much and he took it, but unfortunetly hookes dropped:-[ . But next cast right beside a pontoon ... BANG and after a little tuscle a big fat bream ate my 4 inch shrimp on 20lb braid and 20lb flouro, now how does that work? i have no idea.
We then decided to chase some nasty Bream that flutter around the Canals. As we were entering the canals we saw mass amounts of Big Bream Cruising the Flats, So Tim started using an unweighted 2 inch Gulp Shrimp While i opted for a Strike Pro Rack Popper and after 2 casts I noticed that the bream were only nosing the Popper not actaully eating it so a slower retreive was in order.
After the second Pontoon A mass School of Bream came from under the Pontoon and started smashing the Popper and after several strikes i was on and after a decent tuscle a Bream of 31cm F.L came to the shore as we were land based for that few Jetty's.
After the caught fish thing started to slow down redicoulasly, and it lookes like no one else was catching fish for that matter aswell. We then decided to chase more Bream in open water underneath Boats, and it paid off... sorta!!! we caught two tiny Bream which were both under legal length.
After that we had another canal system up our hand where the bream were very ferouscious and incredibelly AGRO!!. We came into the start of the sytem with amazement as there were mass schools of Bream busting up on the surface for some scrapps from someone feeding them :D and straight away double Hook-Up.
Tim scored a Bream of est 29cm F.L while mine was a taddler.
We then went to the place were The GT dropped my lure and tim decided to use an Sx 40 and i decided to use a DD Bomber. After a few cats tims lure got rapped by what was suspected a Jack.
We then decided to pack it in and head off home. I dont no how to say but it was my worst day on the water ever because i have never dropped so many fish and the weather was to perfect for my likeing.
Thanks Tim for coming down,
Enjoy Everyone.
P.S i am not going fishing again until i Go for some Bass>:(
