I want a really good, heavy duty reel to use jigging for kings, casting poppers (though I have only done this once and need practice) and perhaps spinning to schools of tuna. Would people recommend the High Speed retrive or the normal one? Cheers

High speed. But part of me thinks if you don't know this, you don't deserve to own a Saltiga :P

Thanks scuttlebutt. Do you know what the down sides are? I wonder why they dont make all reels High Speed if it is the better option.
down side is when you're playing the fish you have less low down power. Like trying to take off from the lights in 3rd gear.....you can do it, but it's harder.
Saltiga's are top dollar reels for a toe in the water, you could try it out for much less using a Catalina H or one of the many cheaper alternatives. Looking through the new Daiwa Catalogue it would seem Daiwa are keen to put a jigging outfit into every budget range.
Cheers Roo.

You are right orbyroo Diawa have just released Exceller Oceana 4500j, 4.9:1, 9kgs of drag, 300m of 40lb braid. Looks like a revamped Capricorn 4500j, black with a gold spool lip but otherwise the same me thinks.
