Haven't been targeting squire for a while because Garrett and myself were going to fish round 1 of the summer series on the coast so i've been putting a bit of time into enticing bream on plastics. Unfortunately got the news last night that the boy still can't fish yet after that shoulder reconstruction,so we'll have to wait until he's a little futher down the line. Anyway i had an early mark tosarf and a 1 1/2hours spare so I thought i'd give the river ago for some squire. I found massive shows of bait and fish and with my favorite river plastic found a few takers.Lost 1 good fish into the structure but managed to land a couple of solid river squire. I was wrapped in a small window to end up with a good little session . Looking good for a better session over the weekend ,Cheers;D 8-)

Hi Brent, Best one went just over 600mm and they were solid. If you could have seen the image on the sounder you would know why they are in such great condition. i was running so short on time tosarf ,i actually dropped the fish to the oldies place still alive and they were going to clean them up for a feed so I actually haven't heard what the fish were gorging on.Going to have a decent shot at them over the weekend Cheers

Top river squire, well done. What general area in the river are you catching these good fish?. I recently moved to the Brisbane area and had no idea the river held such good fish.

Bayfisher ..Tide has a fair bit to do with it in the river, certain times seem more likely to have a hot bite come on with the river fish. Mate they can be there but having them turn it on is another story . I 've had them go beserk and create all mayhem for 1/2 hour then shut down again.Every session keep a log and things become a little clearer.
Troy.. I was just feeling quiet confident with these bream on plastics and this was to be our first ABT SS but hey we'll see if the young bloke is right by round 2.Sorry to hear you've bummed out as well mate , see ya next round may be ;D

Well done chief a good pair in such a quick time. I am seeing a lot of bait even on my sounder for the first time.
