As long as you use a decent length of leader the line colour won't make any difference to the fish. However the brighter stuff makes it much easier for you to keep an eye on what's going on at the business end of the gear. A lot of boats that fish for the bigger stuff use the fluoro coloured line to help the skipper's vision of the line, allowing him to position the boat to help the angler during the fight.
