I am looking for a rod to go with my new steez 103. It will be used for casting 3/8 to 1/2 oz spinnerbaits and occasionally jackalls for bass. What are peoples opinions of Megabass rods compared to Loomis GLX or Miller blademasters?

Thanks,

Mick

My choice would be Loomis,While it's probably not the best of what you've listed (though still a very nice rod) it does afford you the oportunity to get back into one for around $190 should you ever have a misshap during your lifetime (as long as the company stays in bussiness),you may have trouble finding what you want in GLX,most of the bass fishermen around here (Nth NSW) go for the 6' IMX in around 6lbs (not sure on the exact weight rating) when choosing Loomis.

I think you should check out the range of Egrell rods too, these are well and truely in this class of rod. www.egrell.com.au (http://www.egrell.com.au)

Oh and I should add, Eric the guy who is Mr Egrell is a member on this forum and has loads of happy customers here. I'm sure you could PM him to find out more information.

I have to agree with Tim. I use an s2 and an s10 egrell, both are great rods. Slightly different feel to a loomis and arguably better casting IMO.

I have a Loomis GLX and it is an awesome rod and well suited to casting weights above 1/8th, however I also have an Egrell S10 which does the same thing. Loomis has a great waranty but value for money I would look at an Egrell. My next rod is an Egrell S4 Bear, painfull to say it but the Wife is getting the $700 G Loomis

Hi Mick .... I've just organised a SBR752 ( 6'3" 10-17lb) & SBR813 (6'9" 12-20lb) ..... I stuck with the spinnerbait range + I've organised a BCR855 GLX (7'1" 17-25lb) for my point casting barra rod ...... All very nice rods ! ..... I would have liked an Egrell or 2 ....... But a mate has organised the 3 rods for the total cost of the BCR855GLX locally:P ..... How could I pass it up ???8-) ..... Nagg
