The weapon "Alexander" headed out yesterday to the Northern Barwon Banks with 4 on board including Frank the fishing machine.
Sea was choppy with 1.6metre swells so sat on 25knots instead of 40knots and arrived at favorite marks around 10am no action. Searched out wider in 60 to 70 metres and found a good show and pulled six snapper to 4kg, spot died and after further searching found another new mark which produced pearlies and more snapper to 4kg.
Headed home around 3pm with 20 snapper, 7 pealies and mixed assortment of moses perch, hussar and 2 flathead.
Attached are pics of the some of the fish caught by 3 of us and some shots of the boat.
Cheers

You're right to call "Alexander" a weapon Barry...
7ish metre seastorm? with twin 250's man it'd get up and boogie! 25kts in sloppy chop is still moving along.
Glad to see the snapps are still around, a few gooduns among them all, its not so bad going that far in dodgy conditions for a good return.
Was there much current up there?

Its a 8.5 metre custom built Ocean Prowler.
Current was no problem as we have the motors running and hover over the mark.

Sounds like a top sesh, plenty of good fish for the table too, which is always good. You're definately right about that weapon, what does he weigh? and what sort of fuel economy do you get outta those outboards?

The boat weighs 3200 kilos including trailer, motors, 450litres of fuel and 100litres of fresh water. At 25knots fuel consumption is under 2 litres per nautical mile as the motors rev at a lower speed.

That fuel consumption doesn't sound right, @25knt using 2ltr per nautical mile, that would put consumption up at 50ltr's an hour, seems like a helluva lot for a platey

Yesterday we used 160litres and travelled 90 nautical miles but the motors are never turned off as we hover over marks while fishing. All up the motors were running for 8 hours (4 hours at 25 knots and 4 hours ideling)

The boat is owned by my mate Pepi and his brother. They got a boat builder to build it from a plan purchased from a marine architect, purchased all equipment themselves, got suzuki engineer to fit and install the motors and a electrical engineer to do all the wiring up. Its now for sale for $159000 in trailer boat magazine and on boatpoint.com.au

Gday Barry, nice catch. That boat is certainly some serious eye candy! But I have to ask, why turn around and sell it? Has it become too small? If so, I hear P&O have a boat for sale at a reasonable price. I don't know whether you'll find it on boatpoint though!

Good report, thanks
M8 I'd not only advertise that boat in boatpoint, I'd put it in some real estate mags as well. Surely she's not measured in meters anymore, it must be in acres:o :o
Good fishing, Well done
