Ventured out wide of moreton on wed night with alex snazaman on board.
When we arrived we threw the pick out with some of the best shows ive seen on the sounder this year, when we hooked up boat was nearlly surfing with current so bad.I put on a 1kg sinker went straight down then starting floating,so we upended anchor went into 37fathoms same current there found a bit of country going into shallow tempest got a few sqr and a few pearlies.when we got to shallow tempest we found current unfishable there to so we had a good sleep
At day break had a troll along shallows ,no hits there so we went up to bait ground and loaded up on scad and slimmies for the next trip
hoping the next trip will be better

Yeah, she started ripping when we were out Wednesday Pete. Had to move around a bit to fish some fishable areas. What is it about Moreton? Stuff me up every time!

Have to do a trip sometime and get some pointers

Cheers

Hi outsideskip,we were out at tempest on thursday and we found the current bad after 7.00 am but good before.
it was one of those dual layer ones with the top going sw but the lower going ne,hard conditions but we drift with 10 balls and had a good day.
plenty of snapper but only to 2.5 kgs and a few big ambos and kingies.
I couldn't stop one with 40 lb gear in 100 mts and caught it at around 50 mts and increased the drag to 15kgs on the run to the bottom but still did me .
The next one was 14kgs and came in no probs at all with most caught on soft plastics, cheers no worries
