Hi all
After saturday arvo's GT, i'v been itching to get back down to the weir to have another shot at the hard fighting GT.
Everything panned out well thisarvo and i managed to get down there just shy of sunset, around 5. The tide was very low, and had only just turned and started coming in. so i began flicking the SP around as i waited for the bait to start getting nervous on the surface. 2nd cast, fish on... 50cm falttie, quick photo and he was released back into the murky water. the next consequetive cast, I'm on again... this time a 45cm flatty, a quick snap shot and he's released back into the water.
About 10mins later still no surface action so i continue bouncing the SP's along the bottom, and just as i'm about to lift the SP out of the water, a little barra sucks down my SP and and straight into the air. After a short tussle, a quick photo the 49cm barra was released unharmed.
The surface action started hotting up as predicted, just as the sun went down, hoever i wasn't infront of the boiling bait, and all i could do is attempt to snapshot the bait as it jumped out of the water in fear of it's life.
No GT, but still a lot of fun was had for a short 1hr fish... plus i got my second barra...
Once again, a big thanks to Brian for the SP inspiration....
Cheers
Josh
