Evening all.
Can some-one clue me in on Lake McDonald please? Never been there but itching to get into it.
I'll be fishing it from a yak at the end of next month and would appreciate any advice on where to prospect and lures with a proven track record. I'm flush with Jackalls, Ecogear poppers and crankbaits and Berkley SPs but I'd like to get any available info on suggested spinnerbaits.
Thanks
Jeff

Basically go to a weed edge and start casting, then follow the weed edge.
Lurewise I have used everything and caught fish on everything but my personal choice is purple/gold or purple/black spinnerbaits in 1/2oz. Or tn60 jackalls in any colour. The 3 ways is probably the a better place to start but as I said anywhere is good.
The BIG problem at the moment is the lake flooded early September and simply hasen.t recovered at all !! As a previous post is written about this. Look for a grey hornet ( thats me ) come over and say hi and I might be able to point you in somesort of direction for fish.

PS - for an early morning surface bite try what they call Borer Creek on any sort of popper/surface lure. Hope this helps

The closest township is Cooroy so head for there, then there are 2 different areas for the boatramps. 1 is head towards Tewantin and just out of Coory there is a signpost for the botanical gardens that is one boatramp ( right beside the gardens you can't miss it ) or keep going towards Tewantin and you will see signposts for hatchery/scoutcamp ( not sure of road names ) but take that turnoff follow it to a T intersection turn right follow that to get to 2 water storage tanks you can see a dirt section of road follow that for 2 kms then on left you can see the hatchery and then the boatramp
