Better start here seeing that Ross is kind enough to be a sponsor of this site.

Hi,

I'm looking for rod with no taper to use as a tiller extensions on my 49er sailing dinghy.

There are some carbon/Aramid versions on the market but they are ridiculously overpriced. I'm trying to source something that is readily available and cheap that we can buy in bulk to make batches of up to 8 at a time. There is no need for carbon or other exotic materials.... we currently use aluminium coz its cheap but this is too heavy and bends (permanently) too easily.

I need I.D. of 16-25mm and minumum length of 2.5m.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a rod manufacturer who also makes non-tapered rod?

Email me at wallrus01@yahoo.com.au

Thanks!

Hey Finga, Ross is a great bloke, sourced a few hard to get items for me super fast.

Try Dorber http://www.dorber.com/blanks.html if you are after something real special they are a specialty rod blank manufacturer. Here are a few others that I have used also (right click to open link).

Many of these you may allready know some you may not but I can vouch for all as being great suppliers (int) to deal with.

(Edit) Damn, nearly forgot FishSticks - www.FishSticks4u.com (http://www.FishSticks4u.com)

Anyone with some more Australian Suppliers?

Dont muck around mate, go straight to pacific composites and they will roll exactly what you want and to the budget. I use to get tiller extensions custom made for a company here on the Sunshine Coast.
