Anyone been using the team daiwa Airity? I just picked up a 2000 size - seems great. How would it compare to a new Certate or similar. I teamed it up with a new Daiwa Zero 4-10pd rod...

Hello Hecle
from my experience which the airity has so far been pretty good. a very light finesse reel where you can cast light to unweighted lures with ease. also a very smooth reel which alot of drag power to pull up larger and the unexpected fish.
compared to the certates there pretty much the same but made from different material so therefore its much heavier and more gruntier, the smoothness is pretty much the same or maybe even smoother, you can feel the gears running along each other when whining and can handle larger fish with ease.
but at the end of the day its pretty much personal preference, if you want the light reel to fight the fish and enjoy the excitement, or you want the solid reel to guarantee you wont snap your line or catch the fish, if thats the way you feel

I've got 2 Airities and love em. They are great reels to use, especially being so light.
I reckon that the certates are smoother reels, this would be because they are mnewer reels made with newer technology. Having just played around with a mates certate I dont have much experience with them though.
How do you find the daiwa zero rod?

Zero seems fantastic. BIG stripper guide & all SIC single foot. I would call it a medium taper. Looking foreward to puling some fish!!
