The Yamaha Great Inland Fishing Festival is on again shortly . Copeton is steadily rising with a slight top up in the last month or so of 3% to 13% of capacity . Yellowbelly are on the bite at the moment.
The first day of the festival is Friday November 30 , and as it is still closed season for Murray Cod , only Yellowbelly , Catfish , & Silver Perch will count for cash . Murray Cod can be caught on Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 December as well as the other species .
Over the three days the longest species total prizemoney , and the overall champion based on points per centimetre will pocket $1000 . For the first time junior categories will be included and these will be judged on secret lengths .
The club challenge will be on again with 4 members from any registered fishing club comprising a team with the winning team recieving $1000 to be used by thier club for restocking .
Last years event saw over 700 competitors converge on Copeton for a crack at some great prizes and cash. With the help of proceeds from last years event , the committee purchased $10,000 worth of Yellowbelly Fingerlings which were released into Copeton in March . Funds were also made available for the new fish cleaning facility at Sepoy Knob .
