Went for a run out to Hutchies monday morning the bay was a good run and got a few livies around the beacons near bulwer and once around the corner was greeted with sloppy conditions to the point we decided on a troll the last five k`s so we had a bit more comfortable ride in Bretto`s haines 19c .
Was still a few whales around near north point.
Did a few drifts and managed a few rat kingies a squire and a nice cobia.Had an inquisitive little hammer head following us around for a while so threw him a live pike and we all had a bit of fun with him till he bit through the wire trace. We could have put kingies in the boat all day they just kept following there mates up . headed home about half one as the south easter started to get up. Thanx again to Bretto for the top day out . The cobia fell to a pillie Cheers Andrew.

Andrew
Nice Cobe.
Sounds like a great day. I was on the beach with the kids last week at Bulwer and a mother and calf went past the drop off about 50M out. Great to see.
With a big pod of dolphins escorting her out.

Cheers Scott,
seems more and more whales are getting closer into the bay as we saw a few inside near cowan about this time last year. It`s good to see. Andrew.

No sea pup the bloke I went out with is a keen bait fisho so pillies and livies where the bait for the day,but the week earlier he was floating down red hooks with no bait and getting little rat kings. I was thinking about throwing down a slick rig I had but didn`t bother.

Kingies don't seem to keep to long in the freezer. I put some in the freezer and went to have a feed about 4wks later and when it was cooked it wa all mushy and tasted like s*%t. Bloody nice fresh
Cheers Mad
Hey muzz, were you floating or bottom fishing when you caught the Cobe mate.
Cheers

was on the bottom Brent with an old pillie that had been frozen and defrosted a few times after taking some into work! The other lads had livies on? I think it was a four or five ball sinker with about a meter of 20kg leader onto a five / 0 octopus circle hook on 15 kg braid first fish just shredded my leader and this bloke wasn`t so lucky. It`s my first cobia so 1 more to scrarch of the list.
