Hi Team.
OK - I have read most of the posts on the Torium - but I not see any posts referring to Tyrnos 30 V Torium 30.
Application - Bottom bashing and jigging - 50/80lb braid
Your thoughts and recs.
Refer to such things as retrieval rate, low gear, drag and toughness

Mate own both if your going to bottom bash and jig the torium would be the go because the tyrnos would be too heavy for those styles of fishing and more suited to trolling and live baiting, as far as retreival rate they are the same the drags are okay while they work but 80lb might kill the drag and blow some bearings quicker as far as toughness i get both mine rebuilt two or three times a year because they don't last if you want a tough reel you'd be better served going in another direction.

Thansk Samson,
I presume you own both..?
What line do u fish with?
You must catch some serious fish to be replacing brgs all the time..?
What tough reel brand/model would you recommend?
Is 50lb line OK then on the TYR30/Torium?

50lb braid on my torium, 50lb mono on my tyrnos, fish commercially so what reels i have generally don't last, as far as reels that are tougher some of the daiwai reels seem to last a bit longer before repaires they seem to be sealed a lot better so the salt don't get in, but i own a accurate reel thats good but if your just a weekend warrior with limited budget those reels you mentioned should keep you out of trouble but for a similar price the saltist by daiwa seems to handle the elements a lot better than the torium.

Interesting - thanks. What is the retrieval rate of the Saltist comapred to the Torium?
WHy is the Saltist more durable than the Torium?
What rod do u use wiht the Torium?
