i use baby oil on the missus, coconut oil on the girlfriend, shell oils in the engine and castrol fluids in the rest - high quality and common so easily sourced - with regard to your oil filter go with a slightly more expensive brand that has a drop back valve (that's not what its called though; the technocrats can help you there... i know the brand i buy when i see it....) - it holds oil in the filter and helps get it to the top of the engine quicker on start-up reducing wear...apparently ....
make sure your brake/clutch fluids aren't over 12 months (get them from an auto shop not a supermarket) from the package date - these are usually hydrophilic (attract water) and so shelf life is important (atmospheric water can cross through a plastic bottle) ; if you are to get 24 months from them in your vehicle - you can buy expensive anhydrous fluids but they are a bugger to find and as i found out useless if you need to top up unexpectedly and don't have some handy - they are not common.
