Has anybody seen any of these babies around recently. I have been waiting for the guys at Cap Blighs at Tingalpa to get some more in. I am after a rod for my father to suit a Stradic 4000.
I bought one for my brother and reckon they are pretty good value. Any other ideas on reasonably priced med heavy SP rods?
Cheers

I saw some at Doug burts on the gold coast..
I think I saw some of these at Anglers Warehouse in tweed. I can't say I was too impressed by the aesthetics. They didn't have the "appearance" of a well made rod, in fact they appeared quite cheaply made. things like the decal used was partly rubbed of and wasn't put on straight in the first place, guides seemed to be poorly bound and finished, only little aesthetic things. I'm not sure i was looking at the right thing after hearing about them here.
I've not had any experience of them other than the reports posted here so I can't comment on their performance, just a observation on first impressions of the rods i handled in the shop. Brown colour blanks and imported by a company in brisbane, is this right.
I might be all wrong about them and just be a bit fussy about their looks. for all i know they may be very good rods.

Hi Neil, I recently purchased a Hardstick from Tackle Warehouse. 4-8kg 7ft 1 piece ... pretty basic and you get what you pay for. $120 with Fuji fittings, and cork grips ... I use mine with a 4000 Symetre and 20lb Braid, great for chucking slugs and poppers but does not have much tip action for the plastics. Made in Malaysia I believe and they are pretty light and more balanced than the Raider which I found to very tip heavy. Pretty good budget stick really.

Its the 2-5kg that I am looking for. They are pretty plain but the ones I saw looked well put together

What about a sic stick pro. at around $169 they are nice rod for the money IMO.
I picked up one of these a while back it's a 3-5 kg spinnerbait 7' long with a 4000 shimano reel and have caught flathead through to queenfish all walking the beaches and found the rod to be quite capable. It can cast a fair distance with a 7gm slug or a 15gm hb lure ( the smallest I've tried ) and the finish isn't too bad.I wouldn't hesitate in buying another for a one of my o/h reels to chase the barra's with.

Heno, thats the one. Good blank for the money
Breamnut, I really don't like the foregrips on the Daiwa Saltwaters. Too short and weirdly shaped. I think cork beats EVA hands down for placky work as well. Great blanks though. They are also closer to $220 so a bit too much
Crumbo, I like the Sicsticks but have only seen up to 4kg. I am looking for something 5kg or more

Horse, it is the 3-5kg. That's what I'm using for my snaps and I'm quite surprised tackleworld Tingalpa didn't have any. Thay should be able to order em straight up. I'll have an ask next time I'm in.
