Had a couple of hours to burn this arvy so headed down to the mouth of the Pine to target some flatties on plastics on the last of the ebb. Walked and fished from the beacon at sandersons right down to Bald hills creek mouth without a touch and I didn't even spot a single flattie lie whilst on my travels.

Then decided to head over to Hayes inlet for a try over the other side of the bridge. At least there were a couple of decent lies in the sand to indicate the presence of a few fish on the last tide. Time was running out as I had things to do this arvy and made the call of last cast, which fortunetly was monstered about six foot in front of me by a healthy 59cm flattie. It didn't really fight as well as I know they can and hardly pulled any line from my 4 pound outfit at all. I ended up taking him home as I am quite partial to flathead and I haven't been able to get out at them recently.

Took the pic with the timer on the cam and cut my head off.;D

Cheers Kev

I am going to have to get out and start doing that myself soon. Watch a DVD the other days using poppers to catch whiting on the flats as well as flaties.
