I actually find their 'sale' prices quite good for basic stuff such as hooks, swivels, sinkers etc. Unfortunately the rod and reel range is so poor that I go elsewhere to get quality items.
Use 'em for the basic stuff and get your good gear (and advice) from your local supplier!

their cheap "basic" hooks are OK as long as you want some Chinese copy of a good hook, but made out Licorice! and as far as sinkers go they only have packets of 10 or so and then only one size, but a million packs, and any brand name hook is definately cheaper at a tackle shop, I have proven it a dozen times to "doubters" and you are right the rod and reel stock is dismal to say the least, a few dodgey combo's and not much else, but by all means go ahead and have a look, if you like at 25% off you will be only paying a bit too much then.

Got a few Stumpjumpers at a fairly good price, also got a Rapala Skitterpop but certainly could have got one at a tackle shop for a similar price I think. Three good lures for under $30, I was happy enough.

Thanks, Noelm. I didn't say cheap basic stuff. I tend to by Mustad hooks and Halco bits and pieces - none of which have failed on me yet! I am more than happy to buy sinkers 10 at a time.
I also buy barra classic and F18 lures. Last sale lures that were $14 - $15 dollars everywhere else were around $10 here. Admittedly the range was small but I got the 'Elton' and 'Guns & Roses' I was after.
Each to their own.

You must have a pretty crap K-Mart near you Noelm cause the one I go to has a good range of tackle, I buy my mustard hooks and also my sinkers there, they have heaps of different size sinkers and in bulk packs aswell. But as Peter4 said Their rod and reel selection is'nt worth looking at.

Try k-Mart @ logan hyperdome,,,,, much better than some of the smaller k-Mart's range wise that is...
Being land based I would have to say they cant really be faulted but for serious off shore bizzo.....well....you know!!!

Hi Guys,
the Kmart here in Townsville isnt what you would call, extensive however I picked up 3 packs of Squidgee shads for $4.74 each.......a mail order place in Coffs (which I reckon is cheapest in Aust) was slight more expensive. I was there and thought why not. Agree about the rods etc.
cheers, Mike

maybe your right I do have a daily whinge, I will tell you what I will do, I will go to Kmart and then ##### (they are close together in my area) and get the price of a couple of items that are the same and probably be available in both shops, then I will get a price from to two tackle stores near me, to make it all fair and square, I will just look at the "ticket" price and not ask for any special deals on anything, I will do it ASAP and post back, just to keep it above board, someone else can do it as well if they like and have access to all the stores without driving a milliuon miles, and I will not look for the very top of the range or anything, unless it is in all stores, then I will do it "for kicks"

I would not know what is a good price or bad one at that store. Mind you I would not know a good rod from a dude one these days what with all this modern technology.
Mind you they must have some real bargins instore as I do see a lot moving out the door.

Why? it's all good, Noelm says what he thinks which is a good thing. I like a straight shooter besides if we all agreed life would be soooo boring.
