Just wondering what would be the go landbase in ballina or surrounding areas when the gross weather calms down... i'm basically equipped with gear for all situations want to get some decent fish any surgestions??

I would be heading down the breakwall for a Jew. Dunno the area in great detail so cant help with local knowledge sorry.

Go across the river at the Ferry. Turn right and head upstream for a couple hundred yards. Fish the top tide in the evening. Run beach worms over the hook and up the line till you have a bait about 2 foot long. Wait for a jew.

I'd say either wall would be a good place to start with this bit of a fresh. If the jew are not there then the bream, tailor and salmon wont be to far away. There were still a few lizards in the beach gutters, unfortunately I think the netters got most of the bream.
