Gentlemen (and ladies),

I've been busy getting some lues made up in time for hooking up the MAC's this October. Please tell me what you think of the "8inch-MAC" model and "7inch-Skip" attached. They both have rattles and a trong hook set (they're selling at $10 each).

i go by the creed that you use what you have thats as close as possible to the bait fish they are chasing on the day.

Means keeping a good box of lures and slugs, but hey, thats fishing :)

I also have 2 hand lines with 4 inch barra spoons o nem, they seem to troll and get great results

spend a few more bucks and invest in some halco lazer pro's. every game fishing author has been raving about how good they are for the last 12-18mths. upgrade the split rings and swap trebles for a single hook. the halco tackle test video is very impressive. they had a bunch of chewed up lazer pro's that were still catching fish and swimming good. everything eats em.

personally, i am not a fan of lures that have the eye attached to a plastic bib.

Top notch,
I agree with the guys above.
On wednesday I caught 3 spanish and 3 sharky mackeral while trolling
a pink and blue lazer pro in about an hour while my old man didnt get a touch on a metal slice on the other side of the boat.
Trevally love them also.

Mate those lures go off in prossy dam for barra and i have a few of them but have never caught a mack on one. Do yourself a favour and learn how to rigg baits like gar or wolf herring and your catches will improve dramatically. If you are chasing spots then use a spoon cannt beat em

Those lures in the pics are crap Chinese duds with weak links and blunt hooks. Waste of money. You're going out to burn up $50 worth of fuel, why save $10 on lures? Get Laser Pros, Classic F20s, XRap Mag 30s, Mackerel Maulers and put Owner hooks on them. Then you won't waste time or money.

Actually .... when the mackerel are on the go .... They will hit just about anything ... & destroy them :P So what ever you use ... just make sure the terminal gear is top notch! ..... My preferred lure however is a bibless minnow (Leads)8-) ..... Nagg

Hey Custaro (or anyone),
what style of single hook? Just on a single ring? Any opinions on the double hooks?

thanks, Mike
