:'( hello everyone,
well for starters yesterday mornin i met up with Timmy(tazza_505) and troy(Blue-Mako). After there train arrived we met up at landsborought trainstation and we caught the bus into kawana. we arrived at our destination at 8.40 and didnt leave me much time to fish as i had to start work at 9.30. so off we trecked and in a number of casts troy got a nice bream of 28cm and about two casts later i had a massive school of bream chasing my popper and i hooked up on a just legal bream. the i casted my tiny popper all the way over the other side of the canal right next to a jetty and missed a few more fish. then it was off to work i go haha. then at about 11 the boys came into work and told me wat they caught hahah well what troy caught anyway haha sorry timmy total tall was 4 bream 1 cod 3 flathead. for that little sess anyway haha. then tim had to go home and troy stayed at my place and because i started work again at 9.30 today and dad was a legend and decided to drop us off for a quick fish early mornin thanks dad;)
we arrived at our destination at about 7.30 and it was a great start. on the third jetty we fished there was a massive shool of big bream so me and troy were basically sight casting to big bream and first cast to troy got busted off by a big fish then i got mine in and i got busted off and after the too bust offs they still were smashin our lures haha it was great we also caught a number of bream on the way to the marina, wen we arrived at the marina troy casted a two inch shrimp in moltin with a mustad aberdeen hook(for slow sinkin weight cause the bream in there are picky) about 40cm of the jetty which wasnt the greatest cast so he wound it in fast on the surface and a massive school of gts were bustin up for it and there were heaps of them then he hooked probly the smallest one out of the school which was about 35cm and he said to me cast it in so i did then out of nowere cause( troy keptt his trevally in the water so his mates would hang around) an absolutely massive flathead of about 80cm tried to eat his tevally and out of the corner of my eye i saw another massive flattie eating my shrimp it was approx 60cm and of course i had no chance cause i had 4lb leader. it busted me straight off and after that we saw another massive flathead so we saw three massive flathead school up haha it was great then after that i had to go to work and troy kept fishing and i let him take the camera to take a few pics of fish he caught. so in a few little sessions it was a awsome use of time to bad we missed the flathead though.:-[
so if anyone is holding back to go fishin cause its winter just go its very rewarding even on surface lures;D most of the fish were caught on 2ich gulp shrimp in moltin with either tt hidden weight or arberdeen cause they were picky today and troy used 4lb braid and 6lb leader and i used 4lb braid and 4lb leader :o hope you enjoyed this read cheers P.S also if you are wondering what the funny picture is it is a 45cm flathead that swallowed the shrimp so far down we could even see it. and also if you are wondering troy caught a massive happy moment on plastic and yes he is crazy for holding it hahhaha

Thanks for showing me around Will, got onto a few fish. The highlight was definately watching my little Trevor disappear down that beast Flatties gob. Not only did he come back for more, he went for my popper!

That 29 fork I got form that T-jetty fought like a beast, one of the funnest tussles from a Bream I've experienced. I must have turned his head 4 times during that fight to stop him from busting me. And that was in a matter of a couple of seconds! Also that little juvenile Barracuda, from another t-jetty was a bit of a surprise, only caught one other Cuda, and that was from the GC canals.

Try using 2lb fc straight through for top water Towadis and deep water plastics :P . Awesome fun.

I did notice the Bream easily go twice as hard at the SC canals then they do around the GC and Tweed which I'm used to. I lost way too many fish over those couple of days!

Glad to see you put the happy back. If left on the bank the spines are still dangerous even when the fish is dead.

Hey guys, well done! I was at Point Cartwright on Saturday morning and only managed a big cuttlefish (spelling?). I did see quite a few people (in boats) catch bream big and small. I think I gotta get into those canals! Can you walk along them high and low tied? Just one more question, What poppers do you use for bream?

Cheers guys, Mick! ;)
