On Thursday am I went down to the Tweed rockwall again at dawn in search of some Trevors/ Tailor. In the first couple of casts I got plenty of interest in the big 26 gram River to Sea Dumbbell Popper. A few cast later I landed a small Yellowfin Trevally.
I carried on for a bit but could not get anything else on Poppers so I switched to the plastics rod. It wasn’t long before I got onto a few Bream with the Gulp Shrimp and Pumpkinseed Minnow Grubs. For a couple of hours there was a steady flow of bream. About 12 in all but only about half were keepers and the biggest of those was around 30 cm.
The surprise were the Luderick - a massive school was floating around and on several occasions I pulled one up with the jighead by the tail or gills. I kept one to eat and they are pretty good. I attach a snap of the decent mixed bag - hoping the new moon might bring back some of the bigger Bream and still hopeful that I might meet some Tailor somewhere.
