headed out early thismorning for a play/exploring trip down the bohle, headed straight down the mouth of the bohle and anchored and dropped a few baits while flicked some lures, not too much excitment other then a barra coming up from the depth to have a look at my floating bomber, gave it a small twitch and it seemed to excite him, as he came up slowly to strike, the nerves got the better of me and i had to twitch the lure again, which pulled it a little too far in front of him. With the water temp only 20degrees, i don't think he had the energy to chase it and he slowly made his way back to the depths...

ANyway, very little action was had, only managed to catch a small jack and a small cod, although was able to get a very nice sandy.

On our way back to the ramp, a large (over a meter) fish (looked like a catfish, possible small shark) came spiraling out of the water and jumped well over a meter high. We were both shoked with amazement... i'v never seen anything like it before, anyone else seen anything like it??

i have had something similar happen to me in the noosa river. i was driving along at about 20knots and about 5 metres to the right of the boat a fish/shark about a metre long jumped out about a mtere high too.

it was a darkish colour, some people said it would of been a mako shark but i would have no idea, it still stumps me.

Seen a few brissie river sharks come out of the water chasing mullet. To cool as long as they don't end up in my boat I'm happy ;D

yeah the back of the fish was too bronze/browny grey to be a thread fin salmon....
