Hi
New to this site , had a poke around and this has to be one of the best Australian fishing forums
I'm down in Melbourne Victoria , just curious here has anyone had any luck catching any ( rainbow or brown ) trout on the Upper and lower pondages of the Lake Eilden .
Would love to here peoples experience on the Goulburn River from Lake Eilden right up to Seymour.
Method of fishing employed , fly fishing , coarse fishing , baits used , rig setup , types of line used braided or mono weighs and thickness colour , hook sizes and types .
Post some trout pictures that you or a friend has caught from this area or any other area of AUstralia , :D but make sure you post the GPS :D position where you caught the:D fish what bait did you use , time of day , weather conditions of the day and was the water cold or hot
cheers
PS : I'm interested in buying a secondhand 2 man canoe , if one has on for sale !!!!

Hi childers
LOL GPS marks was just me trying to joke around , seems the egg is on my face LOL:-[ sorry
No I'm not new to fishing but have been idle for a while and just have taken it up again.
I'm farely familiar with that party of Victoria and the Seymour area and the Eilden pondages
Fly fishing has caught my interest . Something i will give a go this year.
Yes a very beautiful part of Victoria Lake Eileden and the pondages and the clean running water of the Goulburn river. Also the clean running waters that spil into the Eilden lake.
When the trout season opens at the end of this month on the 1st September , the fishing club I'm a member will be having a comp on the Goulburn River " Freshwater Agg Trout Season Open - River only & trout only ).
Have caught a few trout myself and redfin.
The Snobs Creek hatchery is worth having a visit if anyone is holidaying in the area it is only a few kilometers from Eilden township. One can see the trout hatching program they run there.
Yes the pondage is stocked with some very large ex breeder trouts from rainbow to brown trouts.
cheers
