Fished the noosa canals from 6 this morning with nuggstar in his canadian canoe. We were using soft plastics and some hardbodies looking for bream or anything else friendly enough to take a bite, First fish was landed less than five metres from base, while nugg was still putting his plastic on! We moved around from there and after passing under a tunnel had a good 5-10 minutes, where we had a trevally surface right next to the boat then nearly get hooked on my powerbait as it dangled. Nugg then took us to the spot he'd picked out and I missed a bite only to hear zzzzzzz as his reel went off. After a nice little fight he brought in a fat breambo of around 36cm, a new plastics pb for him. Last time I loan him one of my gulps! I also brought in a new plastics-caught bream pb of 29cm and nugg caught his first fish on his towadi, a baby queenie. Ended up back at base by about 10:30 with about 4 or 5 fish caught each (all released). The plastics that did the damage were the gulp 2" shrimp, gulp turtleback worm and the berkley power minnows. Great day to be on the water and you have to love the stealth of the canoes!
