G'day!

Sorry this one is late.

Fished the Broadwater near Sea World from my tinnie on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. Got a dozen bream on Monday and 20 on Tuesday. Biggest was 36cm.

Used Yabbies, beef heart and mullet fillet pieces. Yabbies were definitely the favorite.

What surprised me were the number of boats which pulled up for 5 or 10 minutes, then left when they did not catch anything. I guess they went home saying the Broadwater is fished out.

The number of small fish caught and returned on our various trips shows it is not only not fished out but is a great breeeding grounds for everything from bream , whiting and flathead to snapper.

Good Point Rayder - I often wonder when I stand on the bank and watch people turn up in their boat hurl the anchor over - clank , clank , clank. Then put about five rods with unlikely looking lumps of frozen Mullet flesh out. Then sit for no more than ten minutes and pull them all in again, pull up the anchor and repeat the process somewhere else. You then see them at the gutting table and they tell you how they used to catch loads of fish here but you can't get anything anymore!!!!
