Hi all, well I finally went out a brought myself a new soft plastics rod (shimano xcel) so was keen to get out this morning and give it a flick ,was on the water by 5.00am and out to a spot I found last trip, dropped the pick, throw out old faithfull bait rod and picked a plastic. 4' lime tiger minnow first throw and I was on scored this nice flatty, couldnt believe it what a way to break in a new rod, stayed there for a while and got nothing ,motored out to near Otter rock and went for a drift, landed a nice sole/flounder,another smaller flathead and a small taylor all returned, then back to the edge of the reef but by now the yellow tail pike had turned up in big numbers so I had a bit of fun with them before calling it a day,all up its still very quiet out there with quite a few boats on the water none of which seamed to be doing real flash ,and the water is still very clear but getting dirtier. Cheers Snas:o

Snasman, half you blokes on flexi time to get all these fishing trips ;D well done mate and a nice lizard on the new stick. Mate ,I'm just waiting for the misses to stray under our house in the boys section and finds the quiver of combos we've developed.

Ben: We were getting a few off the rocks where the swimming pool/fake beach is a few weeks ago. You could probably get a few from the bank there.
