Fished N/NE Peel this morning. Ended up with squire (36cm, 38cm, 46cm), Tailor (36cm, 36cm(must have been twins)) and Bream (34cm). All on bait.
I've only started fishing the Bay Islands 6 months ago (was more into river and beach), so I'm pretty happy with the haul.
What I'd really like to say is a 'thank you', to the fishers on this site that gave me some hints on how to fish the Bay on a thread I submitted sometime ago. I've been using the techniques they've suggested and each time I go out I'm getting better.
Cheers8-)

I wish I could say I was one of those to help you, but I must have missed that thread.. Congrats anyway!!
Make sure you get Ausfish stickers on your boat, you will find even more help from fellow AF members out on the water.

Was I one of them? I can't remember. Lol Anyway, well done Castlemaine. Good to see you finally reaping the rewards of persistence.

Straddie, Jeremy and Webby were primary people who made me think about the rigs and the way I fished but heaps of other threads got me seeing bits and pieces to add on. It seems to me 'there's more than one way to skin a fish' and everyone's got an opinion and no one way is right. I'm under no illusions that I've got a lot of catching up to do especially against people who grew up fishing on the Bay. One thing I do know for sure is to keep a log. At the end of the day ... FISH IS ONLY A BONUS

Thanks T1, Scalem, Poodroo & Horse
I often read T1's threads with interest. I saw a bloke out there fishing with plastics and did admire his persistance and the work he put into it. I'll stick to bait for a while though.
I should have mentioned that I caught all the fish except the 46cm was caught by my deckie. So I'm still after a better PB of 38cm. Will take photos next time.
Aiming to get braver and have a go out at night.
Cheers
