Guys
Just switched to braid line (8 lb).
Any advice on different knots from "mono line" that do the job??? or the same apply??? :-/

Thanks

depends on the type of braid.
Braids like fireline are more prone to slippage and different knots are usually needed or variants of mono knots. For terminal knots on fireline i use the palomar knot. For backing to fireline or fireline to leader i use locked albrights normally.

I find albrights will hold if you are critical about your knots and take care.
I don't find the need with braids to look at tying doubles yet in mono i tie doubles religeously.

i use a uni-to-uni for joining my braid to fleuro leaders. haven't had any problems yet, and have had some good pressure put on the knots with no issues. for braid to terminal i use a locked blood knot.

hope it helps.

cheers

Pete,

I use the stren knot for all my braid to mono knots and I've found it to be very reliable and easy to get the hang of. It's just a locked blood to uni knot. I also use the locked blood for terminal knots.

Here's a link to a stren knot tying diagram:

http://www.lyndenhuggins.com/Fishing/Knots.htm

It's a good page & has quite a few knots, the stren is second from the bottom.

hope this helps,

Tim.

Double uni...or if your serious about knot strength then bimini double with a bristol is numero uno.

Thanks guys ..... This is what I like about this site "INFORMATION" not crap that appears on a few other threads......
Thanks again. I might try the "pallomar" hope thats how its spelt??? I think I can do that one..... If it doesn't work I will try another.... Its all good.....

If I'm way off the mark let me know. Its all a bit new to me but I'm having a go!!!

Cheers Pete
