hey all,
had a week of work and a mate coming up from brisie to taste the fishing in bundy. We had planned fishing offshore in the old mans 5m tinnie however with the forecast things were looking better for land based options.
So we hit moore park creek at first light, with predicted 25 to 30 knot south westerlies later in the day. The wind early was non existent. We had a competition between my father in law a six pack of beer for the biggest or best quality fish. there was no action at the mouth of the creek so we trekked inland further and cast to a fishy lookin snag. However we were only able to manage one 25cm bream on strip bait. My mate tried a plastic flick bait with no success.
The father in law and a mate of his went and fished the north wall at the mouth of the burnett but were greeted with cold south westerlies and sub zero temperatures (-7 wind chill). They pulled the pin early but managed a dinner plate sized sole for their troubles.
we pulled the pin at the same time, and went to warm up on a rum distillery tour. The royal liquer is a nice drop with fresh cream. I think the father in law won the comp as his fish was definitly better quality.
here are some photos of the day before at the creek a little more productive, 44 cm flattie on a live winter whiting. Also caught two summer whiting 25cm and 28cm from the drop off at the sand spit on the falling tide.
