G'day all
Dad and I did the plastic thing today and had a pretty good session. The best two squire went 68 and 53cm. Total for the morning was 4 squire, a nice bream and a flatty. Three good fish were also lost due to a straightened TT 2/0 heavy (unusual), a snap off and a pulled hook. Guess thats par for course when tackling decent fish on light gear.
Until we left at 9.30 the forecast 25 knot westerlies never got above 10 - 15.

Cheers

Onya Dezzer.
You and your Dad found some quality fish this morning.
68cms is a top snapper: well done!!
Must have been some serious fish to bend a heavy wire hook.
Cheers Brent

Great effiort just to head out considering the forecast. 68 cm is one nice fish. Any clue to the plastic that did the damage.

You both did well out there. The pictures tell all.

Not to sure what the go was with the wind we have had today. Hardly moved the vents on neighbors roof here all day.

BOM predicted Strong Winds and BAY weather said the opposite?

You had a great session at Redclifle shallows...
What size boat? and was it comfortable with westerly?

Neil, clue attached. Actually they're SWA's.

Silent, 12 feet of fishing luxury. A typical trip to the Redcliffe area costs no more than 2 - 3 bucks in fuel.

Great catch mate. Did you catch these at the break of light? I always find i get the squire at scarby reef at first light, then it stays quiet after that (bream stay on the bite though).

Nice fish there mate. Good to see your back into them!

A mate of mine bought a unit across the road from those red cliffs there, so we launch the kayaks and paddle to that drift a bit. Seems to be the deeper runs are where the fish are at the moment...

Will have to catch up soon :)

Hey Dezzer,

Well done. What depth are you finding them lately? Do you always find the incoming tide near the top the best?

cheers,

Mike.

Yes, that tide does seem to be productive however the diary shows that some run in any direction can work.
Surprisingly shallow considering the waters so clear. Anything between 2 and 5 metres.
