Hi,
I recently purchased a boat and have only now noticed the skeg is bent off centre. It sort of curves around to the right as you looking at it from behind. I'm gathering that this will affect the performance of the motor / steering. Any comments / suggestions?
cheers,
Woody.

The good news is it will make no difference to the operation of the engine but if it is twisted then depending which way and how much sometimes it may be best to fix, if you try and knock it straight without heat it will probably break.

Best to leave it alone if you can handle seeing it like that every day (i could):)

cheers fnq

I bent the skeg on my 40 johno while launching at burrum ramp had a good bend in it so borrowed an axe from a bloke that was at the ramp and knocked it back into place and went fishin no problem

FNQ is right :D

If you try to knock it back to the original position chances are you will break it off. There is a certain technique to doing it anything else could end up in tears

Buhky.. you were plain lucky
