I use a product called lanolube it is made in Brisbane by Cargroomers and works as well as all other brands. They manufacure and sell direct so there is a good saving to be had. I also buy there range of polish for my boat from them it is as good as any other products I have used. I have applied the lanolube on my trailer and all electrical fittings on my boat it seems to work.

Mate, I use a product called Corrosion Guard by Quicksilver. I used it for a couple of years on my other boat with no problems.

Warrior1,
I have read in a particular brands owner manual NOT to use inox for the reason you have stated. I use lanoline spray for many years now and have found it to a superb engine anticorrosion spray.

SK what are you saying, Inox and Lanox, and lanolin sprays are all the same are'nt they, lanolin based. Whats the difference in one spray to another on your motor and which motor are you refering to.

I use Penetrol, it goes hard and dries clear, will last years under the cowl.
Outside only a couple of months, it's not a lube mainly a sealer for metal parts.

Cheers Paul
Paul, Inox is not lanolin based as far as I know, you could be missled by the fact that Inox now make a produxt called Lanox which is a lanolin based product. Inox is a lot thinner and has been know to partialy disolve some types of seals it seems to be more of a penatrant than a protectant

fnq Lanox is the gun stuff, its just made by Inox. The original Inox is quite thin and dosnt hang on as well as Lanox. I doubt its going away soon, maybe in short supply tho.;)

How often do you apply it? After every trip or only at some pre-determined interval? Do you take the cowl off and spray it all over or are there some areas you should avoid spraying it?
The engine on my new boat has had Lanox sprayed on it and I want to keep up the routine.

Avoid any areas with rubber type belts like cam belts and Alternator belts, everything else.... drown it;D
Frequency.... every month is sufficient

I use ecolube, lanolin based like the others, cheaper too. Like spaniard king , apart from belts drown it. Shines up the leg nicely too. Shines up and cleans rods. A bit on the bung washer keeps it sealing, great on plastic, trailer rollers, tyres, get the picture, its good stuff.
