Cured Eel

Anyone know how to make it?

I have a dam with eel in it, and i want to make cured eel. I think i know how to do it, but may be wrong. If you know hoe to do it, or have done it before, could someone please help me out. From my understanding this is what the process is:


Catch an eel
Have a container ready
Drop the eel in the container and pour salt over eel
Add a little water
Wait 3 hours - eel will be stunned
Kill eel and gut
Get a towel and wipe off slime
Fillet
Freeze
Go and catch a gummy...Is this how to cure an eel????

We need to know what is wrong with the eel in the first place..........
I mean what eelment is it suffering from??
Is it termineel???
Sounds like it could already be "damned"
Or is it just in a pickle??
