Leaders and knots for lure fishing!?

Seeking some advice on what sort of leader setup to use when fishing with lures. Heard lots of different types with snap swivels, no swivells, wind on leaders... any prefered setups with best knots would be a great help ;D I'll be fishing with braid, hardbodies and sps..

hey goods....
my favourite for monofilent is with a swivel and a leader size that suits the fish that u are catching... One good way is to tie the leader to the lure with a "full locked Blood knot".
With Braid i would connect my braid to mono with the Albright knot then tie the leader to the lure with a full locked blood knot...

Depends what you're fishing for and where you are fishing, eg estuary or offshore.

I generally fish the estuaries for trevally, tailor, jacks etc using slices HB's and plastics.

Lately I've stopped using a double and have been running a leader about a rod and a half length long tied to my main line which is braid via a slim beauty knot.

Works fine. I've stopped using the albright as I found it was creating tangles around the tag end of the knot. Slim Beauty is the way to go.

Leader is either mono or flurocarbon.

Very rarely use swivels or snaps. I tie a perfection loop on everything, SP's HB's and slices. Much better lure action I reckon.

thanks guys! alex how does the albright knot go if you had a longer leader that would pass through the guides on the rod when casting? I guess that question goes for you too jeff with the slim beauty. I just checked how to tie both knots so I'll have to test them out tomorrow when I'm out (if I can remember them). I've just moved to Elcho island in Arnhemland so I'll be fishing for all the northern river, estuary, blue water species :) I just started tying the perfection loop recantly too jeff as it seems a good knot for lure action.
